Newly made, camphor wooden ornament of a lotus flower.
The lotus plant started to be represented through the art of the 12th and 13th century in China and was linked to the Buddhist images of purity and rebirth. “While rooted in the mud, its flowers blossom on long stalks as if floating above the muddy waters of attachment and desire.”
Camphor wood was often used as building material, their moderate density makes it easy to shape and has a unique fragrance and durability. It has a good resistance to termite and other insect attacks and is resistant to decay.
This fine piece of wooden art can be used as a base for for instance a flower vase, planter pot, etc.
